Sword of Damocles | Bloom's Taxonomy | Flax Golden Tales

1. Remembering
This story is from the Greek Legend. Dionysius who was the king of Sicily in 4th century B.C was known for his harsh treatment. Damocles was one of the flatterers in the court of Dionysius.

2. Understanding
The story includes two personalities, a wise one and other foolish one. King of Sicily, Dionysius was well hated for his harsh treatment and knew his life was based upon constant fear. One of his coutier and adulterated flatterer Damocles assumed the high life of being king, surrounded by servants and wealth all the time. So Dionysius made him realize the difficult part of being a king and it was not someone's cup of tea. It comes with huge reponsibility where everyone desire is not fulfiled. One the one who knows, it is not just about good fortune and satisfaction can rule or a king with courageous attitude.
In a world filled with false flatterers if a king falls on a trap he/she can't be declared as  a fit leader. One need to be aware of his power and risk that tag a easy job.

3. Applying
As in the story, people in real life also have their own risks and difficulties. With unlimited boundaries of versatile and multi-disciplinary knowledge we can get success in any field if we want. Being a courtier, one should perform the given task and provide honest opinions to the King rather thinking about all the throne happiness and luxury when the reality is for different from what is seen.

4. Analysis
Dionysius was the king of Sicily whereas Damocles was a courtier who worked for king Dionysius . As a king, Dionysius was wise and tyrannical with his decision. On the other side, Damocles was a foolish and silly person who wanted the enormous power and blessing as King and built the castle in air. He never stopped to falsely flatter the king hoping that the king would grant him a bigger position. The King on the other side was vigilant about the hardness he has to face as a king and hour to handle a adulterated flatterer with an unforgettable lesson. Dionysius knew the reality of life and Damocles assumed all these glitters seen through base eye was gold.

5. Evaluating
This text is quite humorous. However it is quite confusing to the reader as it jumps from one context to another. If we think practically, it is impossible for us to do pretty well in every disciplinary subject. We can be perfect in one but might not be in the other. In the text, we find writer persuing biology despite being expert in Physics.

6. Creating
With great power comes great responsibilities. Money and Power cannot bring us happiness and satisfaction.
